On June 5, 2022, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity recognized Thomas Fik, P.E., Senior Engineer in our Hillsborough, NJ office, for his 27 years of service to help homeowners build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. Volunteers and donors contribute to the success of the organization through partnerships. Carroll Engineering is proud to have a long-lasting partnership with the affiliate assisting with property acquisition and site development. Tom Fik and the Hillsborough team have contributed their talents to two (2) new exciting projects.
Most recently, Raritan Valley Habitat became a Veteran Affiliate. Carroll Engineering is very excited to be part of the first Veterans Build for the affiliate. Tom Fik played a major role in finding land to build a home for a Veteran household. In the coming months, Habitat will begin constructing a new single-family ranch on Grove Street in Somerville, New Jersey.
Construction has begun on another project at 1 Raritan Avenue in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County. Through a partnership with Carroll Engineering, Habitat and Raritan Township, a new two (2) story duplex (including patios, garages, and balconies) will be constructed on a lot that was once owned by the municipality. Tom and his team prepared site plans for the development and coordinated with both Municipal and County departments to achieve the dream of homeownership for two (2) deserving families.
We congratulate Tom Fik on his extraordinary efforts. Carroll Engineering looks forward to continuing its partnership with Raritan Valley Habitat to make homeownership a reality for families and Veterans. Tom was joined by our Hillsborough team at the celebration event.
