Design Engineer (Civil Site Design) – Shape the Future of Land Development in Hillsborough, NJ
Are you a skilled Design Engineer in Civil Site Design looking to bring projects to life from the ground up? At Carroll Engineering Corporation, we are hiring a dedicated civil engineer to support the design of impactful land development projects in our Hillsborough, NJ office. This full-time opportunity offers hands-on work across residential, commercial, educational, and mixed-use developments with a focus on innovation and precision.
Position Description:
As a Design Engineer (Civil Site Design), you will play a critical role in the planning and technical execution of land development projects. Responsibilities include:

Reviewing municipal zoning, land development ordinances, and NJDEP regulations

Conducting utility research and due diligence
-
Preparing or assisting with concept plans, site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and utility designs

Working on a wide range of projects—from small infill sites to large-scale developments

Coordinating and corresponding with municipal officials, regulatory agencies, project team members, subconsultants, and contractors
Design Engineer (Civil Site Design) Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of civil/site design experience

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Solid background in land development and site design

Working knowledge of stormwater management design, grading, erosion and sediment control, and utility layouts

Familiarity with NJDEP permitting processes, site plan approvals, and municipal regulations

Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects
