The Chamber (Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce) hosted a Small Business Summit presented by their Small Business Council on Friday, September 20th, at DeSales University. Carroll Engineering attended the day that was full of networking, education, and motivation.
The summit started with a morning of networking, as CEC was able to connect and meet with businesses from all over the Lehigh Valley. Following this, we heard from Mike Iorio, Vice President/Partner at Dale Carnegie Training. He presented an engaging version of the Carnegie Sales Training.
There were two Breakout Sessions during the summit. The first session, “ Employee Tool Kit”, we heard from Keely Collins, Chair of Employment Practice Group & Partner at King, Spry, Herman, Freund, & Faul, LLC, and Kristofer M. DePaolo, CEO/Shareholder at Werner & Co. They shared tips and insights on various employee/employment topics in the small business world. This session was moderated by Danielle N. Adams, Chief Empowerment Officer at QueenSuite, LLC. The second session, “Human Resources”, was presented by Stephanie Klatka, Executive Vice President of HR at Klatka Consulting Group. Stephanie provided tips and tricks for onboarding and recruiting future employees.
The keynote speaker for the summit was Korry Franke, Boeing 737 Captain and author of 3 Feet to the Left. Korry spoke about his time as the youngest captain then flying for United Airlines, his journey of success, and leadership.
The Small Business Summit was a great opportunity for CEC to network and connect with businesses and community leaders in Lehigh Valley. We look forward to continued involvement within the community.
