As surrounding communities were hit hard by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, our employees were instrumental in providing efforts to make a difference by helping to raise funds for local charitable organizations. |
UNITE FOR HER
During the month of October, Carroll Engineering employees stood together in the fight against Breast Cancer to share in spreading awareness on early detection and the need for finding a cure to save lives. For the second year, we selected Unite for HER, as our non-profit organization to be the recipient of our fundraiser support. Unite for HER, is located in West Chester, PA, dedicated to offering healing, restorative products, and educational items to support women with breast cancer and ovarian cancer as well as their families throughout the community. To aid in encouraging participation, our fundraising activities included a campaign to purchase CEC Stands for a Cure 2020 T-shirts and Sweatshirts, and the sale of raffle tickets for the chance to win any of the four themed raffle baskets (Pink Lady Basket, Dunkin Donuts Basket, Magnolia Cooking Basket, and the Backyard S’mores Basket). All the proceeds raised by employees were matched by CEC, resulting in a total fundraiser of $1,102.00. Also, a designated “Pink Day” was held on Friday, October 23, with pink treats such as pink ribbon sugar cookies and yummy pink sprinkle cupcakes for employees to enjoy as they joined in by wearing pink themselves.
JEANS FOR A CAUSE
Each holiday season, Carroll Engineering supports a family in need from Titus Elementary School with donations raised from participating employees wearing jeans the 1st Friday of each month and donating $5 each time. This year, we were able to help two brothers who have experienced tremendous heartbreak from losing a parent and going through the emotional process of being adopted by their Aunt. We raised $1,000 and the money went toward buying toys for the two boys so they could enjoy the holiday season.
TOYS FOR TOTS
Carroll Engineering is a proud participant each year of the Marine Toys for Tots Program. At the beginning of December, a toy collection box is placed in the office for employees to fundraise and collect new toys to help less fortunate children.
