Bucks County’s Covered Bridges will be getting a little TLC, and Carroll Engineering Corporation is assisting in the County’s efforts to preserve these historic structures. CEC performed the design and developed the contract plans & specifications for the necessary repairs, maintenance, and preservation. In total, seven bridges will undergo the preservation process.

Work will include fireproofing of the interior and exterior wood services, miscellaneous cedar facing, siding board, and various maintenance and repair items. Cedar shingle roofs shall also be replaced with fire retardant shingles at three of the seven covered bridges. 

Carroll Engineering will be performing construction observation and administration throughout the entire process. It is expected to last approximately fifteen (15) months. More details and coverage on this project can be found at the following links:
